Start with the start kit. Then add a theme or extra systems if you want — unzip into the site root, no .env.

After purchase — the first hour

One path: order the start kit, install the four ZIPs, create the owner account, and edit the site in the browser.

  1. Order Website Start Kit. From the Client Area download the four ZIPs: Starter, Auth, Cookie Consent, Newsletter.
  2. Unzip Website Starter into the site folder so app/ and public/ appear. Copy .env.example to .env, set APP_URL, then php artisan key:generate and php artisan migrate. storage/ and bootstrap/cache must be writable. The root .htaccess sends traffic to public/; point the domain at this folder, or at public/.
  3. Unzip Auth, Cookie Consent, and Newsletter on top of it, into the same folder. No .env.
  4. Open /setup and create the first account (name, email, password). It becomes the owner and opens /site. /setup closes after that.
  5. In /site change the name, photos, texts, and which pages are on. Save, open Home — the site is yours.
  6. Optional: a theme (theme.json, for example {"theme":"iportfolio"}) or Writer for articles.

Website Starter

The Laravel base, without Auth. For the short path, take Website Start Kit. Otherwise: order the starter, unzip it, copy .env.example to .env, php artisan key:generate and php artisan migrate. Texts live in content/*.json or, with Auth, at /site. Default look: theme.json with {"theme":"default"}.

Themes

Install Website Starter first. Unzip the theme ZIP into the same root — folders are added, .env is not replaced. Switch the theme in the existing theme.json, for example {"theme":"iportfolio"}. Copy still lives in content/*.json or is edited at /site.

Systems

Auth, Blog, Inbox, Cookie Consent, SEO, Newsletter, and Writer unzip into the starter root. Auth: /setup for the first account (it becomes the owner and opens /site). Blog reads content/blog.json until Writer is installed, then SQLite from /write (admin only). Inbox needs Auth. Cookie: content/consent.json. SEO: content/seo.json. Newsletter: form plus confirm; with Writer, the notify checkbox is on the writing panel.
